Graduate Level Internship or Practicum Position

Are you a graduate student in the counseling field who is looking for a specialized internship that allows you to build your skills in working with clients with eating disorders? Are you interested in exploring the private practice world? We are a collaborative practice that works with trauma and traumatic coping including eating disorders and substance abuse. We are also an open and affirming practice and have a special affinity and connection to the LGBTQ+ community.
As a member of Bucks Eating Support Collaborative/Bucks Support Services you would have options for practice and mentoring from leaders in the field. We are a teaching practice [hyperlink to description] that offers ongoing supervision and consultation that can support you in obtaining licensure as well as in your professional growth. If you are selected for this internship, you will have an opportunity to be part of a practice that specializes in working with eating disorders, body image concerns and disordered eating. You will learn the skills you need to provide care from a trauma-informed lens, and understand eating disorders as a way that people have coped with past traumas. Bucks Eating Support collaborative is LGBTQIA+ affirming and affirming of all bodies and identities. We are a teaching practice that offers supervision and consultation opportunities from mentors that are well respected in the Philadelphia area and who have spoken nationally and internationally about working with eating disorders.
Preference will be given to those with lived experiences of eating disorders, the LGBTQIA+ community and/or experience working with trauma, and those interested in adolescent and family work. We welcome applications from clinicians seeking practice-building skills and those who would like to grow with our practice.
Requirements include a therapist pre-licensed Master’s or Doctoral graduate student seeking licensure in Pennsylvania (we can also support those working towards New Jersey licensure). We ask for a commitment of at least 10-12 clients per week, with preference given to those who would like to build their caseloads.
Currently our opportunities are primarily for individual therapy, with the possibility of shadowing our eating disorder and LGBTQ group. Motivated/highly skilled interns would also be welcome to develop and facilitate a group.
