Shannon Hays is a Licensed Professional Counselor working in Pennsylvania. She holds certification as a National Certified Counselor and Co-Occurring Disorder Professional Diplomate. She earned a Masters of in Professional Clinical Counseling from La Salle University as well as a Bachelors of Science in Human Service and Minor in Psychology from Chestnut Hill College.
Shannon takes a strengths-based, person-centered approach to therapy, with an emphasis on compassion and creating a safe space for the individual. Drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Systems theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness meditation, she believes strongly in empowerment and tailoring the therapeutic experience to the needs and personality of the individual. Shannon believes in a solutions-focused, holistic approach to change.
In addition to serving as a therapist for the Bucks Support Services Shannon works to serve individuals recovering from addictions and co-occurring disorders with Family Services of Bucks County. She was clinician and supervisor at Today – A Pyramid Healthcare Facility. In her roles working in inpatient treatment, Shannon has gained experience in working with clients with co-occurring eating disorders and addiction and providing therapy, meal support and case management services. Regardless of the identified challenges of any individual she works with, Shannon believes all individuals have the strength to make lasting change in their lives.
