She/Her

Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and specializes in working with adolescents and adults in healing their relationships with food and their bodies, as well as those dealing with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and perfectionism. Michelle is Health at Every Size (HAES)-aligned, is fat-positive, uses a social justice lens in her work, and is gender affirming and an LGBTQ+ ally. She also has a passion for working with client’s in the perinatal space, including pregnancy, postpartum, and those dealing with infertility.

Michelle received her master’s degree from Immaculata University in Counseling Psychology and her bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Psychology. Michelle has over 13 years of experience in the mental health field, previously working as a therapist and clinical supervisor in the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care at American Day Treatment Center in Exton, PA and Seeds of Hope in Philadelphia, PA. Through these experiences, Michelle has honed her skills in working with
clients from a variety of backgrounds on many different concerns, including her current areas of focus of eating disorders and maternal mental health, as well as those dealing with depression, anxiety, relational issues, and self-esteem concerns.

Through her own food and body image healing journey, Michelle has developed a passion for supporting others in the eating disorder recovery process and providing space for clients to grow in a way that feels
authentic to them. Her work with clients healing from food and body image concerns centers around identifying their own value system and exploring how to turn towards those beliefs rather than being focused on food and their body to cope. She also works to provide a safe space to process through past life experiences that have cultivated the client’s relationship with food and body, and practices through a trauma-informed lens. Michelle believes that this work needs to happen within a systemic framework, and explores societal factors that impact the way we experience ourselves and the world.

Recently, Michelle began focusing on supporting people through pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and pregnancy losses, as she believes that these experiences are transformative and emotionally complex. Michelle loves supporting clients in their perinatal journey who have also dealt with food and body image concerns, as her work at the intersection of body and mind provides a safe and comprehensive space to explore healing. Michelle is currently working towards becoming PSI certified, as well as training to become a DONA certified birth doula.

Getting to Know Michelle

Hello! Thanks for visiting my page. I am so passionate about the work I do as a licensed counselor, and pull a lot of motivation from my own experience in eating disorder recovery and becoming a parent. I am also a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community, am HAES-aligned in my work, and am constantly in the pursuit of learning ways to support my clients in their unique healing process through a social justice lens.

Alongside my role as therapist, I am both outgoing and an introvert, and love experiencing life with my partner Alex, my one-year-old daughter Lily, and our giant Bernedoodle Archie. I spend a lot of time with my large extended family as well, including my 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and over 40 cousins. As much as I relish time with friends and family, I am also a home body and enjoy spending time reading at home, going on walks, playing with my kiddo, and re-watching my favorite shows. I also love baking, celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah, traveling, spending time outdoors, going to the beach, getting tattoos (and constantly dreaming up my next one), and going to see my favorite bands in concert. In general, I am always seeking out new and unique experiences in life, all the while balancing it out with lots of time at home to recharge.
